EN407

Gloves against heat and fire risks

The EN 407 norm specifies the test methods, the general demands, the thermic efficient levels and the protection gloves marks against the heat and/or the fire. Applies to all the gloves that should protect the hands against the heat and/or flames, in one or several following forms: fire, heat contact, heat by convention, radiant heat, small protection of molten metal or big projections of molten metal. The products tests can only by made for efficiency levels and not for protection levels. Demanding Level: 1st Level: 1 to 4 – inflammability resistance: time during which the material inflames itself and continues to consume itself after the ignition font is suppressed. 2nd level: 1 to 4 – inflammability resistance: time during which the material inflames itself and continues to consume itself after the ignition font is suppressed. 3rd level: 1 to 4 – heat resistance by convention: time during which the glove is capable of retard the heat transfer of a flame. 4th level: 1 to 4 – radiant heat resistance: time necessary to reach a certain temperature level. 5th level: 1 to 4 – resistance to small metal projections in fusion: quantity of necessary projections to elevate a glove in a certain temperature. 6th Level: 1 to 4 – resistance to important metal projections in fusion: quantity of projections necessary to cause deterioration.
