Requirements and tests for chain mail gloves

 

Requirements
        - dimensions of the protective surface area of gloves and arm 
        - gloves shall be marked with their size based on the hand size 
 
construction: 
         - Rings of chain mail with an internal diameter no greater than 3,2 mm,
         - Dimensions of interstices that gauge with diameter 6,0 mm is unable to pass 
         - Mass: less than 4 kg / m2
         - Stability to cleaning temperatures: 
         - maximum cleaning temperature has to be marked in the information. If this temperature is below 82°C it has to
be marked on the item
         - dimensional change < 10%

 

 

Mechanical requirements
         - tensile strength: chain mail ≥ 100 N
         - attachment of arm guards ≥ 150 N
         - penetration resistance:
         - chain mail: mean penetration < 10 mm and no single penetration < 17 mm 
         - rigid plastic or metal arm guards: mean penetration < 12 mm and no single penetration < 15 mm 
         - rigid arm attachment: mean penetration < 12 mm and no single penetration < 15 mm
